July 13-18: Ruckus Society and Backbone Campaign Action Camp

There will be an action camp involving skill building in kayaks, rappelling, etc. on Vashon July 13 - 18. We need food donations, volunteers and people who want to learn nonviolent direct action skills in the water and out. We need to stop the largest sand and gravel mine of it's kind in the U.S.

Ruckus Society and Backbone Campaign are sponsoring an action camp on Vashon to share skills and information in building a movement to stop a massive sand and gravel mine that will threaten, if not destroy, chinook salmon, orcas, smelt, herring, madrona trees, aquifer for Maury and ruin a lovely area.

Please join Backbone Campaign, Ruckus Society and the Mosquito Fleet on beautiful Vashon Island, WA. for 5 exciting days of creative tactics trainings, group camping, and connecting with seasoned and aspiring activists from around the nation.

Please help with food, huge pots and pans, volunteering in the kitchen or come and participate in the workshops.

All participants will be provided with the opportunity to experience and train in a wide range of creative tactics. These include nonviolence trainings, arts for social change workshops, land and water based techniques, campaign design and strategy.

Rappelling, Tripod and Blockades
Kayaking, Puppet Building, Silkscreening, Drumming, NVDA training and more!

Have a great time, eat great food, meet great people. Then take these skills back to your community to strengthen and energize your organizing.
