July 5th: 9/11 Truth Convergence @ Peace Arch Park (Blaine)

author: johnny canuck

On Saturday, July 5th at Peace Arch Park (Blaine, WA and White Rock, BC Border crossing) from 12 Noon til Dusk, Canadians and Americans will come together for common causes and interests for our mutual benefit.

All 'Truth Activists' in the Pacific Northwest (USA and Canada) are invited to attend and participate in this relatively unstructured and informal event. Whether you are interested in 9/11 Truth, the SPP and National Sovereignty issues, the Illegal Wars, Canada's Bill C-51 and other health related issues such as DU, Vaccines and Flouride, the Fake Money System, Blackbox Voting and Voting Reform, the NWO, First Nations issues, or are supporters of the Canadian Action Party, Ron Paul, Kucinich or McKinney (political parties or candidates that do not get coverage), etc you are invited to join with us for a fun, social event liberally sprinkled with Civil Informationing (ie. friendly, educational conversations with the general public), music, a speaker or two (TBA).

This is NOT a protest nor a demonstration in the usual sense, but rather an "opportunity" to meet like-minded people, find commonality, share information, ideas and materials with each other, as well as with the general public in the parks, on the beach or as they wait in their cars to cross the border ...civilly, respectfully and as positively as possible. The aim is to inform and share our concerns and knowledge, NOT to confront or disrupt anyone. We want to BE the MEDIA and BE the CHANGE that we want to see.

Wear your Truth T-Shirts (black is OK but it would be good to see some other colors too), bring your flyers, books, DVDs and a sign or banner to highlight your issues of interest. Be creative and informative, and try to spark public interest and curiosity, not anger.

As we celebrate both Canada Day and U.S. Independence Day, it is our patriotic duty to exercise the rights and freedoms that others fought and died for, and our civic duty to help inform others about that which the media refuses to cover, or which it distorts.

This should be considered as a "family friendly" event (children, parents and grand parents) and we strongly encourage people of all ages, backgrounds etc to come together this day, peacefully and civilly, for our own individual sake, and for that of our respective countries.

This international event is co-sponsored, organized and coordinated by Fraser Valley 9/11 Truth (BC) and Bellingham 9/11 Truth (WA)

UPDATE - JUNE 21st:
We now have secured the picnic area and hall with kitchen on the US side and have a permit for this event, including permission for amplified music, provided it is not too loud. We will have a stage near the side of the road, beside the Peace Arch (between the 2 parks). Any interested social/politically active musicians are asked to contact us a.s.a.p. if they would like to perform on a voluntary basis, or for donations. We have no budget and there is no admission so no revenues for us (unless we get some substantial donations in the mean time).

About the Peace Arch:
Peace Arch State Park (WA) is a 20-acre day-use park commemorating treaties and agreements that arose from the war of 1812. The park celebrates the unguarded United States/Canadian border that stretches from the Strait of Juan de Fuca to the Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia. The park features horticultural exhibitions and the giant, commemorative, concrete arch that straddles the border of the two nations. The countries co-maintain the monument.

PREREQUISITES: a smile, an open mind (a desire to learn as well as educate others), and an open hand, NOT a clenched fist.

AMENITIES: There are picnic tables on both the US and Canadian sides. You should bring your own food and beverages, coolers, small BBQs, blankets or mats, towels, etc. and maybe a folding table or tray and collapsible camping chairs.

NO overnight camping is permitted in the park! See: Surrey, BC Camping and Blaine, WA Camping.

Some of our American friends may want to be there on July 4th (Independence Day) and others on July 6th as well, but July 5th will be the official international meet up.

Border Issues:

Canadians and Americans will converge on both sides of the border and can meet up right at the Peace Arch. If you plan to cross the border, however, be sure you have a Driver's License and Birth Certificate, or a valid Passport. Be sure to leave firearms or other weapons at home. We urge you to not bring drugs or alcohol with you.

Border officials from both countries (with or without uniforms) do patrol from both sides!

FEES and REGISTRATION: None! It is a free event and a simple gathering of individuals and groups with common interests.

We look forward to seeing and meeting you, building bridges of understanding and to finding ways to support each other in our common goals of truth and justice, ending illegal wars, stopping North American Integration, and helping to end undue security measures, restoring and maintaining rights and freedoms, educating others, as well as restoring and maintaining the power of the people of our two nations.

It would be wonderful to see similar events planned and carried out at border crossings across the USA and Canada. Hopefully others will take the initiative to do this. There will be a great deal of cross-border traffic that weekend and we think this could therefore have a very big impact on the traveling public.

Please help to get the word out to anyone who may be interested and able to attend!

FAQ:

Answers to questions received so far:

Q. How many people will attend?
A. We have no idea how many people will attend. We are putting it out there and hoping for the best. We are relying on word of mouth, e-mails and forums to get the word out. We have invited people from various groups in Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, Vancouver Island, Bellingham, Seattle and Portland, Idaho and others.

Q. Do I have to go through customs to attend ?
A. NO. Attendees park their cars in the parking area (last exit before the customs) on both sides and walk in through the park. You can then go back and forth between the two parks on foot in what is essentially a DMZ.

Q. Has this been done before? Are protests allowed there?
A. This, to my knowledge is the first such international event of it's kind. Hopefully others will do this across the border from coast to coast, and will be repeated each year (if necessary). Again, this is not a protest (though protests do take place there often). It is a convergence of like-minded peoples with common interests.

Q. Will you be approaching people in cars?
A. We will not be approaching people in cars as we do not want to make anyone uncomfortable as they wait to cross the border, however, we will be visible to them and hopefully some of those in their cars will be curious, and ask for materials as they wait in line at the border. There will also be many people on foot in the parks and on the beach that day. We are going with the Civil Information Model (non confrontational and no disturbances or disruptions*), just being present, positive, visible and available with information. There is a lot of room to gather and to move around, and we will be highly visible to motorists and those in the parks (and there will be very many!).
We hope that some people will have tables along the road way outside of the Peace Arch area where cars can stop and get flyers and DVDs after they have cleared the customs area.

* We will disassociate ourselves from anyone becoming rowdy, rude and aggressive, creating disturbances, or promoting hate or violence, and consider them as provocateurs.
