Mayor Nickels recently refered to himself as the CEO of Seattle, which drew this comment from Christal Wood, a 10 year peace and social justice activist, "I have such a problem with Greg Nickels and his policies, and he deserves an opponent."

While others are waiting for someone to run against Greg Nickels, the unpopular mayor of Seattle, a 36 year old veteran candidate has stepped in as the only opponent to date.

Mayor Nickels recently refered to himself as the CEO of Seattle, which drew this comment from Christal Wood, a 10 year peace and social justice activist, "I have such a problem with Greg Nickels and his policies, and he deserves an opponent."

Nickels has been criticized for dissolving the Department of Neighborhood, pushing favoritism toward Paul Allen's South Lake Union Business developement, failing to work with community leaders to comply with neighborhood planning, while doing little to nothing to support small businesses.

Wood has already drawn the endorsement of the Progressive Party of Washington, as well as a number of other activists and other Seattleites. Her web page, due to be complete by March 15th, is located at  http://www.christalwoodformayor.org

The folks pushing the idea of someone running against Nickels are probably themselves qualified, and it is hard to understand why one of them do not put their hat in.

Who cares who runs? In that sorry excuse for a city government there is only two choices: far left (like now) or socialist toalitarian left. Its the same really, only ever differing in degree.
