The Bush Administration has finally admitted that there was no connection between the World Trade Center attacks and the Iraqi Government. However, a majority of U.S. citizens believed that Saddam Hussein was behind the September 11 attacks.

The Bush Administration has finally admitted that there was no connection between the World Trade Center attacks and Saddam Hussein. This admission came after Dick Cheney was repeatedly grilled on Meet the Press about apparent contradictions in administration posturing before the war and now. Cheney told Meet the Press on Sunday that the administration didn't know if there was a connection between the 911 attacks and Saddam Hussein.

Polls showed that for two years after the World Trade Center was demolished, a majority of U.S. citizens believed that Saddam Hussein was behind the September 11 attacks. The Bush administration did nothing to discredit that perception and in fact did a lot to perpetuate it -- until now.

Government officials never officially blamed Iraq for 911, why would they? The plans for attack were drawn up years ago. The government originally said Bin Laden did it. But Osama Bin Laden disappeared. While most Americans may remember the disarming quiet of the days following the attacks when the entire country became a no-fly zone, less Americans realize that of the planes that were allowed to fly, one contained the entire Bin Laden family, and 140 Saudi officials, gathered up from around the U.S. and flown back to Saudi Arabia supposedly "for fear of reprisals."

Police usually question suspect's families for leads. The Bush team flew bin Laden's family out of the country and then appointed Henry Kissinger to head the investigation. The final report by the joint congressional inquiry comittee appointed to look into the 911 attack and intelligence failures surrounding the attack has over 50 blacked out pages. There are endless questions about 911, Iraq, Enron, and the Florida Elections, but no real answers.

Does the Bush Administration even need an official explanation for the war? To hear Bush speak this war is a "Crusade" for Freedom and Democracy in order to "Rid the World of Evil" and "Evildoers". Isn't that enough? This preemptive war on Iraq, which many throughout the world believe is a Fascist move to secure Iraq's oil resources, is not just for oil. It is essentially about expanding into new territory, the oil is a bonus, but the oil is simply a spoil of war, not the goal. The Middle East is the last holdout. It's not just the oil. When a country invades other countries, and then leaves permanent military bases in those areas in order to control that region, that's usually called Imperialism.

Yet beyond Imperialism, U.S. Foreign policy has a new doctrine of pre-emptive war called, "The National Security Strategy of the United States of America". Authored mainly by Paul Wolfowitz this doctrine has replaced George Kennan's doctrine of containment, read the "X Article. Pre-emption fits with Imperialism much more easily, in the Capitalistic sense, than Containment. The US doesn't want to contain markets, the United States wants to "free" markets.

The US and Coalition forces have lost 347 soldiers so far. That's basically 10% of the original 3000 or so who died in the World Trade Centers. Just how many more have died around the world since then at the hands of Americans, or American forces? It really depends on how you count. Afghanistan... Iraq, Southeast Asia. Where do we have troops? What are they doing? Most voting Americans probably don't know. How many have died at the desire of the US government in the past 100 years? Does anyone even have a clue?

Iraq is now a rapidly deepening quagmire, and the casualties are mounting. The UN, under Kofi Annan has basically told Bush that unless the UN controls UN forces, then Bush can kiss off. The corporate media in the US broadcasts pictures of bombs exploding, precision guided weapons, war made more humane and deeply sanitized for delicate American viewers. But the humanity of US victims remains obfuscated from view and those numbers are quietly reported on the back page of the World News sections of US papers, while the number of dead Americans is a database on CNN's website.

So far during the illegal invasion of Iraq the United States has used Depleted Uranium Ammunitions, chemical weapons, and conducted assassinations. In the first gulf war it was widely reported that Iraqis had been buried alive. In Afghanistan the Guardian reports that "[Taliban] captives allegedly died after being packed into sealed cargo containers en route from Konduz to the Northern Alliance prison at Sheberghan." . Many other war crimes have been alleged, in Afghanistan, Iraq, and elsewhere.

What is there to even say about Guantanamo Bay?

Since 911 the Bush adminstration has squandered the World's sympathy and turned it into worldwide protest. It has suspended righs of American citizens, and thumbed its nose at world opinion. In this time the Bush Doctrine has given the world two wars, and watched as the country lost millions of jobs.

The Bush Administration wanted this war, 911 provided a pretext, and Afghanistan provided a first taste of blood. But when that wasn't enough, Bush himself got up at the STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS, and then LIED TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.

Bill Clinton lied about getting a blowjob to a Federal Judge, and for this he was impeached.

C'mon! Do you really think that the majority of Americans need an emotionally satisfying reason to attack a defenseless Third World country?

Saddam is evil. Taliban is evil. Good enuf reasons to connect them and wage lop-sided war against both--or least against the human beings that will "stand in" for these symbols of evil incarnate.

They just dont fucking care. A majority STILL believes the invasion was justified---fill in the reason.

Lets take the Hitler analogy to its logical conclusion.
Did the Germans needed an explicit rational reason to invade France?

When will these Administration thugs who hide in remote, secure locations sending others to do their bidding be brought to justice?
When will democracy come to the USA?

As autonomous free-thinking human citizens of the 'republic for which this stands', each and every one of us has the moral responsibility to the REST OF THE WORLD to end this criminal military travesty.

I submit to you that merely to place the top level architects and administraitors of the brutal plans and policies of the 'Bush Adiministration' in santatoriums and prisons for the rest of their natural lives is not enough.

We, like Germany before us, owe the rest of the world a massive apology, in that collectively, We the citizens of the 'Unites States of America' allowed this all to happen.

The several thousand few who have profited from this plundering should have their assets siezed and redistributed to the peoples of the poor countries recently brutalized and bludgeoned by the Bush/Cheney 'Gang'.

Following all of this, profound fundamental structural changes need to be wrought in the warp and weft of our Republic such that tragic events like these can never happen again.

We are all of us complicit. To right this massive wrong is all of our responsibility. To see to it that those who have massively abused the power entrusted to them by faith of millions of decent 'American' human beings will one day see their names on the docket of a 21st century 'American Nurmemburg Trial', will be the day we can begin to feel good about ourselves, and the humanity we will have once again regained.

We owe it to ourselves. We owe to humanity. And we owe it to the Cheny/Bush criminals too.

The powerful never make mistakes; everything is a learning experience. The cowboy terminology, whoever isn't with us is against us, is only fit for the sandbox.
Maybe W will resign and we can breathe again.Maybe the war on language will end and the perversion of permanent war decried. Bedtime for Bozo can be a month vacation/celebration. On the ranch he can call all the shots without dismantling the UN and international law.

You forgot that Mr. Clinton himself bombed Iraq by taking the so called blowjob and sweeping it under the rug. Not once did he publicly say I'm sorry either. No Democrat or Republicrat will ever get my vote ever. Obviously the public thinks it knows who is the better of two evils. BTW no matter how many protests, sit outs, public smear campaigns, or seeking justice for the murder of innocent people who ever deems it necessary to bomb, kill, and maime will continue to do so under the guise of self interest. What are you gonna do? Continue to be obnoxious and create more of what...lookie at what someone did. Lets be proactive not destructive.

In 1976 I took part in a US Congressional Commissioned Military Study to Improve US Air Travel Security, since September 2001 I have been trying to get this into the media and to the American People but have met only Censorship from the US Government's (Democratic - Republican owned and operated) Nationalized media. So I put online a web site of my information that encludes letters of support from: the Honourable John McCallum, Canada's Minister of National Defense, Carolyn Parrish, MP and former Vice Chair of the International NATO Executive, Daniel Ellsberg and others to get this into the media.

If my information was Credible enough for George Bush's Church to turn into a Democrat Senator that was investigating George Bush and then use it in their decision to withhold support for George Bush's Iraq Invasion even after George Bush said he had a Revelation from God to Invade Iraq; why isn't it good enough for the US media to bring to the American People? If my information was Credible enough for the Ministry of National Defense of Canada then why isn't it good enough for the US media? If it was Credible enough for People from the Highest Echolon of NATO then why isn't it good enough for the US media? So many atrocities are raging in the USA including forced medical experiments. On children and on disabled U.S. veterans. Is not it grand to be an American? Remember being forced to Pledge Allegiance to the American Flag in our childhood, only to come to realize that is another version of a swastika representing global abuses and opression.
