microBLAST! 2002 UPDATE

author: FMRX

Over the course of 5 days, microbroadcasters spread 440 watts of freedom over 10 frequencies on the Seattle FM dial!

As the Nat'l Association of Broadcasters converged in Seattle this week, micro FM broadcasters from around the country came together to blast over 440 watts of freedom onto 10 separate frequencies on Seattle's FM dial! Contrary to reports by the corporate media, none of these stations interfered with existing stations, showing that with simple engineering the airwaves are STILL wide open for a dozen new community stations!

As the NAB crawls back into their respective corporate money pits, we continue to broadcast in Seattle on 104.1. This week 104.1 FM will be hosting live programming by Kill Radio Los Angeles, Radio Volta Philadelphia, and Freak Radio Santa Cruz. Tune in on Tuesday night for Kill Radio and stay tuned for more updates!

Meanwhile, Free Micro Radio X needs your help with construction of a sustainable community access internet broadcast studio at the Seattle IMC! The sooner this studio is built (we already have the equipment), the sooner we can go live with a new Seattle community radio station that just may be picked up by local FM microbroadcasters.

FMRX will be having a planning meeting next Thursday, to lay out where we need to go from here and take the ACTIONS necessary.
If you want to make radio, please get involved.

Stay tuned!
